Fototentoonstelling Global Goals
25 t/m 30 september, in de Langstraat en omgeving
Over de hele wereld wordt op 25 september Global Goals Action Day georganiseerd. Deze dag heeft als doel om mensen bewust te maken en op te roepen om bij te dragen aan het behalen van de Global Goals in 2030.
Met deze fototentoonstelling besteden we in Wassenaar aandacht aan de Global Goals endit is tevens de kick-off van deze website. Vrijdag en zaterdag zijn wij met een stand aanwezig in de Langstraat (naast de Vodafone winkel).
Onze vrijwilligers vullen deze website graag met nog meer Wassenaarse initiatieven en activiteiten,en daar kan iedereen aan bijdragen door je aan te melden.
On 25 September 2015, 193 countries signed and agreement on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, also known as Global Goals, during the annual UN meeting. These sustainable goals set the global agenda up to 2030.
With this photo exhibition we pay attention to the Global Goals in Wassenaar. This is also the kick-off of this website.

Global Goals On 25 September 2015, 193 countries signed an agreement on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, also known as Global Goals, during the annual UN meeting. These sustainable goals set the global agenda up to 2030. The Global Goals encompass global challenges relating to poverty, climate change and inequality that everyone is faced with. Global Goals Action Day is being organised all over the world on Friday 25 September. The purpose of this day is to raise awareness and call on people to contribute to achieving these sustainable goals.
Wassenaar 2030: sustainable and future proof
The municipality of Wassenaar, together with 99 other municipalities in The Netherlands, make up Gemeente4GlobalGoals. It is 2020: we still have 10 years to make a good contribution to deliver to these world goals and hope that more and more Wassenaarders will commit to one or more of the Global Goals.
Kick-off website The volunteers of de Groene Meent (the Commons) and Fair Trade Municipality Wassenaar have, with the help of voluntary photographers, taken photos of many Wassenaar organisations and people in the past month along with the Global Goals they serve. Here is how the exhibition works: each photo in the exhibition has a QR code. By scanning the QR code visitors come to a special page of the Wassenaarse website http://wassenaar4globalgoals.nl where you can find a clear explanation of the Global Goals and more information about the local people and organisations who are working on these goals. This photographic exhibition is the kick-off of this website.

IVN wil mensen al vanaf jonge leeftijd in aanraking brengen met de natuur in hun omgeving. Dit doet IVN door excursies, cursussen en lezing aan te bieden, natuureducatie in het basisonderwijs te verzorgen en door schoolpleinen en wijken te vergroenen. Ook willen wij bewoners van verzorgingstehuizen in contact met de natuur brengen.
Naast de landelijke activiteiten organiseert IVN in Wassenaar vooral cursussen op het gebied van natuurlijk tuinonderhoud, de natuur in de duinen en een basiscursus natuur. Ook worden er geregeld excursies gehouden in de natuurgebieden rondom Wassenaar. De werkgroep agrarisch natuurbeheer onderhoudt enkele geriefhoutbosjes, waaronder het Ommedijkse bos.
Voor de jongeren van 10 tot 16 jaar worden spannende natuurtochten georganiseerd.
Alle activiteiten in de Leidse regio zijn ook voor Wassenaarders toegankelijk.
Aanmelding vooraf is bij alle activiteiten in corona tijd verplicht en (met uitzondering van cursussen) zijn er geen kosten aan verbonden.
Run for Rio ondersteunt projecten die zich richten op kansarme kinderen in ontwikkelingslanden met het doel hen volwaardig aan de maatschappij te laten deelnemen.
Het accent ligt de laatste jaren op het investeren in onderwijs (bouwen van scholen) waarmee de maatschappelijke positie van deze kansarme kinderen kan worden verbeterd. Op dit moment wordt er een school in Oeganda gerealiseerd. De realisatie van projecten vindt plaats door het kiezen van een betrouwbare partner in het land van het project. Momenteel wordt er samengewerkt met de organisatie Noah’s Ark in Oeganda.
Wat doen we? Door middel van klaverjasavonden, hardlopen, wandelen, fietsen en het houden van kerkelijke collecten, werven we fondsen. Ook geven we voorlichting over onze projecten en houden we sponsorlopen op scholen.
